In this week’s issue of the Friday Football Lineup (FFL), the Ducks wear pink, CFB playoff committee selects chairman, Fresno State releases hype video, Aggies on upset alert against Auburn and Kansas making some changes.
1. Ducks unveil pink unis
This Saturday, against Washington State, the Oregon Ducks will be wearing pink uniforms in support of breast cancer awareness month. As the only college football team with the most unique uniforms, it’s great to see Oregon supporting a cause that effects so many. According to Nike and Oregon, “This year, the Ducks’ will wear pink Nike Vapor Talon Elite cleats, pink Nike Vapor Carbon Elite socks and pink Vapor Jet gloves in combination with their black Nike Pro Combat uniform system. In addition, this year the Ducks will punctuate their look with bold pink helmets.” Read more
2. Jeff Long named first chairman of College Football Playoff Committee
As the end of the BCS approaches near, the new College Football Playoff Committee has it’s inaugural chairman, Jeff Long. Long, who currently serves as the Athletic Director for the University of Arkansas, will be part of the committee responsible for selecting the four teams that advance to the College Football Playoff beginning after the 2014 regular season. The idea of seeing a playoff in Division 1 CFB is beginning to become a reality. Read more
3. Fresno State releases hype video for homecoming
Who doesn’t love hype videos? Here is another great one released by Fresno State, which recently entered the top 25 this past week and has a 5-0 start. Hopefully this video will keep the team motivated for homecoming weekend as they play the UNLV Rebels.
4. Aggies on upset alert against Auburn
After nearly squeezing by Ole Miss last week , the Aggies may be in for another nail bitter against Auburn this Saturday. If Auburn wants to contend in the SEC, this would be a big statement win for them. This is our upset alert for the week. Read more
5. Kansas making some coaching changes
Looks like Charlie Weis is making some mid-season changes to his coaching staff in an effort to get the Jayhawks back in contention. But, he may have to do more than that against the Sooners this Saturday, who are seeking revenge after their lose to the Longhorns last Saturday in Dallas. Charlie, it may be time to look for a new gig. Read more
